Learning Journey to China and India. 2012 November

On November 11th the #minnteam landed in Shanghai for the Learning Journey to China and India. During the two insightful weeks in the economic hubs of the world, the 8th and 9th module of the program took place following the learning adventure the team started last january in Finland. Social entrepreneurship, outsourcing, emerging markets & the fortune at the bottom of the pyramid, challenging themselves in terms of optimal discomfort, spiritual growth, creativity, U Theory, radical environmental change, personal real learning, fun & satisfaction were some of the spices that the team experienced throughout the journey.

After a proper dinner with the team on sunday evening, the official program kicked off on monday morning learning How to do business in China. The first visit was done to the office of Mondragon in Shanghai, learning how the corporation is working in the country. Following that, Olivier Stauff from InterChina Consulting did a presentation about the social and economical environment in China, and how foreign companies are adapting to the local reality. The day ended up at CEIBS, learning about the Business School and having a dialogue with MBA candidate Ibon Sotil and Researcher Marta García de Alcaraz.

The second day was focused on How companies are innovating in China, visiting and learning from Continuum (Innovation Company), Web2Asia (Digital Strategy Company) and Haworth (a global leader in the design and manufacture of office furniture and organic workspaces).

By the third day of the journey the team left Shanghai in order to visit the industrial park that Mondragon created in Kunshan, where 9 companies from the co-operative group have subsidiaries. Orbea, Fagor Arrasate and Fagor Ederlan were some of the companies that the team got the chance to visit and learn about How companies are producing in China.

After an action oriented beginning, during the fourth and fifth day of the trip the #minnteam spent two days at the Taihu Great Learning Centre, learning about this unique school Master Nan created and understanding how their education model is aiming to combine ancient Chinese culture with the western one. The stay in the centre offered the opportunity to learn about meditation and Tai Chi, as part of the spiritual growth that was aimed to happen.

The week in Shanghai ended up with a birthgiving at the Sino-Finnish centre, school of design developed in partnership between Aalto University and Tongji University.

A week after the journey started, the #minnteam reached Calcutta, former capital city of India. Inspired by leadership programs developed by Unilever, the two days volunteering at Mother Teresa’s House aimed to experience the Bottom of the Pyramid and enhance the empathy as a value within the members of the team.

The journey continued in the western part of the country. First stop was Pune, where the team got the chance to visit the subsidiary of Cikautxo and participate in a U-Theory workshop hosted by Manish Srivastava, along with several other local entrepreneurs that are currently building a community of change makers.

As the last stop of the trip, the #minnteam did the birthgiving at the Gate of India in Mumbai and visited Dharavi, largest slum in Asia and probably one of the most entrepreneurial environment in the world.

Birth Giving @ Agora Space [Berlin]

The final module is already here. MINN team 1st generation is going to present tonight the last Birth Giving of the whole process that has evolved the team last 18 months. An event where the main purpose is to share with everybody who is joining us all the knowledge we have acquired these last days in Germany. Maybe this will be the last chance to see MINN Team 1st Generation in action!

The event will be arranged tonight at 19h00 in an space called Agora that is located at Neukölln neighborhood in Berlin.

Cambiando Paradigmas Educacionales

Posteamos un video sobre el discurso de Sir Ken Robinson en torno a la necesidad de un cambio del actual paradigma educacional y que ha sido animado por RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce) para facilitar gráficamente sus palabras.

El ámbito educativo nos interesa de primera mano y cuestionar/reflexionar en torno a los paradigmas establecidos nos parece una labor necesaria y sana. De ahí que hoy hagamos mención de este vídeo que ilustra un punto de vista que seguro genera debate sobre lo que estamos haciendo con nuestros escolares y universitarios. Opinen por favor!

MINN Team says Kaixo!

Primer post en este blog de la recién estrenada página web del MINN Team [Master Internacional Ejecutivo en Intraemprendizaje, Liderazgo e Innovación Colaborativa]. Un postgrado que oferta Mondragon Unibertsitatea [MU] y que es el resultado de la colaboración habida entre la propia MU y Team Academy [Unidad de Emprendizaje de Jyvaskyla University of Applied Science]. Un postgrado que podemos definir como el hermano mayor del LEINN [Grado en Liderazgo Emprendedor e Innovación] que ya lleva realizándose entre Oñati e Irún 3 años con resultados visiblemente exitosos. Ambas propuestas educativas basadas en el aprendizaje activo a través de equipos y sustentados por los learning tools que Team Academy ha desarrollado durante 18 años en Finlandia nos han permitido llegar hasta este día en el que podemos mirar atrás y observar que la senda abierta por Jose Mari Luzarraga en su momento, y gracias a toda la comunidad de Mondragon Team Academy [MTA], era la correcta para llegar a un escenario lleno de oportunidades como el actual. Tal y como de puede leer en la contraportada del Folleto de la Segunda Edicion del MINN: “there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path”.

Éste pretende ser el rincón que participantes, coaches y colaboradores utilizaremos como lugar de encuentro para compartir todo tipo de contenidos relacionados con el MINN. Aunque el de este año sea la primera promoción, la piloto, tenemos muchas cosas que contar. Fotografías, proyectos, apuntes, notas, ideas, vídeos, pensamientos, emociones, etc… que compondrán un gran puzzle que quizás permita a los seguidores de este blog hacerse una idea de lo que es el MINN. Y decimos una idea, porque tal y como un participante de esta primera edición decía, “el MINN es como tratar de explicar un viaje con una postal. Una foto en la portada, una mirada, una perspectiva… Unas palabras con mala caligrafía detrás… No hay postal que valga, cada uno tiene que vivir su propio viaje”.

Esperamos que este blog sea un canal participativo, efectivo y cercano en ese objetivo vital de contribuir a crear un mundo mejor.
